ALL PRO DADS Kick-Off Celebration

An “All Pro Dads” Kick-Off celebration was held on recently at the Oasis Coffee House in Montezuma, GA.  Local dads and male mentors who have students enrolled in the Macon County School System attended this special event.

An “All Pro Dads” Chapter has been established in Macon County this school year.  It is designed to provide an opportunity for dads or male mentors to spend quality time with their children by discussing important family topics.  Dads are able to obtain great tips and resources to help strengthen their relationship with their children as well as supporting their children’s school and the entire community.

During the September meeting, the topic of conversation was “Teachability.”  The dads, along with their children, watched a video on the concept.  After the video, the dads discussed a recent moment that made them very proud of their children.  Another discussion was held between the dads and their children regarding a difficult task that they had to face and overcome.  The discussions allowed everyone to share special moments in their children’s lives and to show how families can problem-solve and help each other overcome obstacles.  The event focused on how more male-involvement is needed to help support children throughout their lives as well.

Rev. William Rand is the team captain of the All Pro Dads Chapter.  The Macon County School System challenges all dads or male mentors to become an “All Pro Dad.”  For more information on how to become an active member of the chapter, please contact Ms. Verneda Johnson at 478-235-3027.

A special thank-you is extended to the following for assisting with the “All Pro Dads” event. Mr. Daniel Yoder, owner of Oasis Coffee House and his staff for all of their support, Ms. Kembrial Harris, Mrs. Monica Clay,  Mrs. Debra Hobes, and Rev.
