Dear Parents and Students,

I am happy to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year! We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children will achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in these trying times our children need support from both the home and school. Here at MCES our goal is to strengthen our bond knowing that it will make a great difference in your child's education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children's success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities.

I want to assure you that during these uncertain times, you can count on us

• To provide the highest quality education, no matter the platform.

We have been working hard all summer to plan for a safe opening of school and to implement best practices to mitigate the risks associated with Covid-19. Our classrooms have been set up to increase social distancing, signage has been installed throughout the building to guide students, and our schedule has been modified to allow for more time for brain and mask breaks and hand washing. A stronger emphasis will be placed on social emotional learning that will implemented by our counselor in all of our P-5 classrooms.

Please know that decisions are made daily that are in the best interest of our students to ensure their safety and leave you with a peace of mind. With that said, our first day of school will be Tuesday, September 8, 2020. We are looking forwards to seeing our students.
